Just spooted in the City

    One of those Piaggio MP3 three-wheel scooters, in full Plod livery,
    being energetically cranked around the Old Street roundabout. Didn't
    know they were using them....

    they have been for a while. And they take them "off road" - about a
    year ago I saw one being ridden across Paternoster Square, chasing a
    fella on foot.
