    It was very nice.

Haven't bikes moved on a bit? My Gixxer felt really heavy and big but its
engine is still one of the best IMO.

    Is yours a K1? When I rode AndyB's 10R earlier this year I couldn't
honestly say it felt that much different to my K3; sure, slightly
different power delivery and shorter geomotry giving a lighter front
end, but it didn't seem to be a great advance.

    It's a K1. Don't forget I'm 5'2" and a bit and every Kg or mm counts.

I've seen a nice black '05 ZX-10R that I plan to test ride next week...
    Should be fun.

I could have posted about the "bonkers" engine and insane brakes but I
expected that. What I wasn't prepared for was how small and light it felt.
Even I could get both feet down, albeit on tip toes and actually paddle it
around. This was a new experience for me. The steering was also razor sharp.

The riding position actually felt taller than my gixxer and my usual lean
angle and knee out didn't produce touch down. I had to hang off and lean the
bike a bit more for the screeech. But it did feel very stable in the bend
    with precise throttle control.

Compared to my old blade it did feel insane but compared to my gixxer it
felt like the difference between it and the old blade. Even though the
engine, gearbox, handling etc were brilliant it was the lack of Kgs and mm
that struck me. Oh yes the clutch was quite sharp also. All in all very nice
    in the extreme.

"Foolish" yes, I see what you mean but the more extreme/experience type
riders will know this. Does it make practical sense? Probably not, but
that's not the point of the bike.

There was also a nice looking 1KBlade parked next to it. The blade looked
    intimidated. ;)

Is it smaller than the previous one? I found it the tallest of the R1,
Gixxer and ZX when I test rode them a couple of years ago.
