Just had a great idea...

  1. I'm going to leave my new SV at the shop! That way I'll never get bored
with it, I wont crash it, tyres will last for ever and my no claims bonus
will certainly go up every year. Add to that the resale value after a few
years with zero miles will be better than a similar aged bike that's been
    ridden.

    Yes.....

Why not give it to one of the gifted riders on this group and they can run
it in for you, see how fast it goes, how well it handles, how it copes with
the daily commute, if it's good for touring Europe and so on and then, after
a couple of years, give you a full report on whether you've bought a good
    bike or not.

Perhaps every month they could send you a few pictures of your bike being
used for wheelies or knee-down type things along with a bill for any bits
that need servicing, replacing, fixing or removing by a trained
    proctologist.

Obviously it's a lot of work for somebody to put in and you'll have to pay
them a few quid, but at the end of it you can be absolutely sure your bike
whether your bike is fantastic, crap or somewhere in the middle. Also
you'll have, courtesy of the monthly reports, a fantastic record of exactly
what the bike has been used for which will boost resale value no end.

All you need now is a volunteer ...

  3. If only I could find some willing to do all that for me. Ah well, I guess
I'll need to drag myself along to the shop and drive the damn thing myself.

    Ho hum.

Tell you what. To save you the anguish, you can have my 650 SV, and
I'll ride you 1000 for you. Swap you back in about a year. I expect
    you'll apreciate it then.
