    Hi all,

Thanks again for all your help on selecting the bike, the parts and a shop
to go to. Bought it from BTX yesterday.
The DR-Z, an IMS 16 litre tank, handguards, radiator guards, chain guard and
bashplate for her and the best body armour for me (my riding style is very
touch and go :). A bit disappointed not to have found an aussie made tank
though... The Safari tank looks great but 28 litre is over the top for me
and the Nomad rear tank limit the luggage capacity.
Now I sure hope that you were right about which shop is best...
More work to get a good price but the price did get good and they can't be
the number 1 dealer for nothing. I also know that they have a good
experience with the DR-Z as they race them. Only down side so far, some
b*#&!rd bought the last one in stock just before me... Other good sign I
suppose but I have to wait until Saturday to have it.

I will let you know what I think about the bike and parts, and the BTX
    service in a few weeks.

    Thanks, Patrick. ...XT500, DR-Z400E :p

    Hi David,

One of the top box is going with the DR600 and the Givi is on my XT500. I am
changing the tyres of the XT tonight as it is about to re-become my
commuting bike. And for that, the top box is a must. The DR-Z will stay box
    free...
    How about you? Still biking?

    Patrick.

Sort of long term in between bikes, I should have gone the
Motard route instead of just gettting an old comfy cheap UJM .
Hopefully the old bus will be gone this weekend and then I will
start the search for a siutable donor for a road style motard. As
I dont have much time for longer rides these days .
Have you dold the DR ?I thought you had a TT .

Nop! The only thing I have from a TT is a late 70s frame, wheels and tank. I
you know of anyone interested in the parts, let them know.
My stable is DR-Z400E and the good old XT500. The DR600 is sold to a good
friend of mine. I will miss it. It is a very reliable and comfortable
commuter. In comparison, the DR-Z400 is like sitting on a wooden fence...
What is your old bus? I have 2 friends coming from Europe, looking for an
    old bus.
And good luck for your bike hunt.

    Patrick.

You are right... An old DR or XR/XL would do a better job.

    Thanks, Patrick.

1980 Z750 with a shit load of ks on it but still good compression
and original cept for exhaust , has new battery , tyres ,
bearings, seals in wheels and suspension. Rattles like a typical
UJM very tidy but alas old hat.
Has ventura Hi Lo rack /frame no bag . RW cept for no horn and no
    reg .
There are plenty of older big chookies that may make a decent
Road Motard on the market TT ., XR , DR ,KLR etc One with a
leccy leg would probably have to be considered.
Good luck with the DR pity I dont ride often enough to warrant a
decent bike the choice is endless.
    Green with envy .
