Does anyone know when the third part is on? A trawl round the
increasingly bloaty bbc site just gets me to a comment on 'have your
say' and BBC4 isn't listing it.

I shall be peeved if they're not going to show the rest of it.

Nope. He rocks, though. If only there was some way of downloading TV
content to ones PC. Imagine how convenient that would be!

    A weirder Dan Cruickshank.
I have put a request in with the teenager to add it to the list.

Nah. Meades is an intellectual colossus whereas Cruickshank is lower
    sixth.
They have a use after all.

    "Jonathan Meades: Magnetic North
*1/2*. What is the north and, equally, where is it? Jonathan Meades
travels from the flatlands of Flanders to Germany's spectacular Baltic
coast trying to figure out what northernness entails. Is it labskaus,
gothic spires, herrings, grotesquerie, fantastical skylines, or creepily
    dark woods?

    Would I lie?

"In 2008 a two part documentary, Magnetic North, was screened by BBC Four.
In the programme, Meades celebrates the culture of northern Europe, and
wonders why the North suffers in the popular imagination compared to the
South. The programme features the expected stylistic flourishes and quirks
of presentation now associated with the writer/presenter."

SWMBO[1] can't abide his style, but is interested in the content. I just
love his use of language. I must admit that it wasn't clear to me that
there wasn't going to be at least an episode 3. It probably should have
been billed as a short critique of the Hanseatic league, but then nobody
    would have watched it all.

[1] Perhaps influenced by the first ever episode of his first "Abroad in
Britain - Severn Heaven", featured SWMBO's ex's 'shack' (which he
acquired after they split up) near Bewdley.

No no no - I'm enjoying the fact that LN asked when the 3rd part of a
2 part series was going to be broadcast.

Ah, well you can enjoy the fact that I was also hoping to catch episode
three from iPlayer tomorrow. He didn't actually get very far north, and
the end of episode two didn't seem like the end of the story somehow. I
was enjoying it so much I didn't notice it was only billed as two parts.
