    Is this the same fellow that did so well at Isle of Mann last year?

    Well, on http://www.amaproracing.com/97rr/daytrr.html he's listed as
    being from Cumbria, England, which is where TT rider John is from, so
    I'd guess it is the same guy. He also fared pretty well as a stand in
    rider in the Hawk Kawasaki team in BSB last year, when Glenn Richards
    got hurt early in the season. He did well enough that when Richards
    came back, Hawk continued to run John on a 3rd bike.

    Very nice chap, too. I met him at an open day last year at my local
    dealers, and, as I was about to ride in the Manx Grand Prix for the
    first time, I was talking to him about the TT circuit. He reckoned he
    could probably do 110mph lap with me sat on the back...
