JASTEK powerlets - almost, but not quite...

I needed a weatherproof accessory socket for my cellphone, GPS, electric
gloves, etc. so I bought some BMW-compatible "powerlet" sockets from
http://www.powerletproducts.com. They even come with a spring loaded lid
    to seal it against rain.

The socket itself is pretty nice, except the ground tab is sort of
loosely pushed into the unit and subsequently falls out.

This happened on all three of mine, and I was rather peeved. I had no
choice since I'd already cut a hole for it, so I lashed up a ground
connection by using a hose clamp.

I have a naked SV-650, so I mounted it in the headlight shell, about an
inch back from the chrome light rim.

I sent several emails to JASTEK's tech support asking if this was normal,
or just a faulty batch, and never got a reply.

Just wanted to let people know...
