    The real question is how much of that £144,066 was spent carrying out
    constituency business and racking up expenses incurred solely in the
    line of carrying out an MP's duties (whatever they might be, nobody
    seems to know) and how much was creamed off the top.

    As I've said previously, quoting one headline figure for the expense
    claim just obfuscates the matter of who's diddling what.

    The vast bulk of the claim seems to be staffing costs which, assuming
    they're not in the style of Derek Conway, sound quite reasonable.
