If I don't watch myself, I'll find I'm in the market for a decent VFR750.

****. The Aesthetic Challenger is a very nice, comfortable and reliable
    Fiat.

To be fair, the comfort assessments were done by comparison with other
bikes. So the seat, riding position etc are as comfortable as the RT, the
buffetting that was a part of the Trophy experience is entirely absent, and
because of the semi-sporty riding position, there's no headbanging. And the
acceleration and high cruising speeds achievable are nice, too - for me, at
    least.

OTOH, it's a nold Honda VFR. Having the use of the Stattocruiser for Sedan
is excellent, because I don't have to do anything rash on the bike front.
Now I can think about doing a big rebuild of the RT - losing the fairing,
putting on flatter bars, getting the engine rebuilt, double-plugged etc,
frame powder-coated, braided hoses, a 100/7-style seat with a hitching
    rail...

    Dream on.

I really like the old airhead boxers, despite the number of times they've
fucked up on me. The ideal would be something like a R100/7 with the
handling of a mono and the performance of the older, full-power RS.

So why not buy my R100RS mono. It's a lovely bike with the bits to
de-restrict it again, remember that mechanically the Mono is a
    completely superior machine.

  15. The One True VFR. None of yer linked-brakes nonsense, better handling
than the VFR800 and much, much smoother.

Or at least my VFR750 was. Until some French scrote knicked it in
    Chartres.

And then I made the mistake of replacing it with a VFR800 thinking that
    it wouldn't be *too* different.

I still miss the VFR750. One of the few bikes I would happily have
    again.

I miss my one - best bike I've ever had, as I far as I'm concerned, and it
wasn't exactly a minter... the comfort, the ability for a big lump me to be
able to sit upright with it pulling 125 and beyond without having to wring
its neck, and the way you don't have to keep going up and down the 'box like
you tend to have to when scratching, on a 600.

I don't however, miss the fuel consumption, when it was being pushed hard...
the worst I got out of it, on one particularly thrashed tankful, was 24mpg.

I'm seriously contemplating getting another one soonish, tbh.
