Is fibreglass better or worse than polycarb?

Although polycarb isn't as bad as some would have you to believe.

Cool. Actually, I think we may have had this conversation before...

IIRC, the next line should go, "Christ, I'd have one of those, if only it
had a built in sun visor"...

My thoughts exactly. It's useful on sunny days, when you suddenly find
yourself in a dark place, as it stops photochromic glasses from working.

Bollocks to Redex. Elly has been suffering terrible icing with the 9R
    - so I went looking for Silkolene FST, the only thing I'd heard of
that may cure it. I found Wynn's Dry Fuel first, which is a product
intended for use as a de-watering agent in fuel tanks. It does claim
to "help with carburettor icing" however, so lashed out a fiver and
tried it. At a ratio of 1/3 of the 380ml bottle to ~15 litres, carb
icing was banished, not to recur even in very favourable conditions.

We are now trying Silkolene FST at 110ml to 15 litres and that works
    fine too. Tenner a litre.

Cool. When madam came down to mine for a visit, weekend of the BMF,
we went out on the bike. Coming back in the early hours of the
morning and the bike seemed a little hesitant, until reaching the
rbout just down the road from my place, where it died. Managed to
get going again, but progress was a little peaky as it cut in and
    out.
    Indeed it does. Ta.

I'll take that as a compliment in the way of 'having a life'. Off for
a full three weeks starting Saturday, so I'll lose touch with here
even more, which can only be a good thing.

Expensive as an additive goes, maybe I'll run some on that in all my
bikes, just to get rid of any water in the fuel system.
Sounds like the one to try, better vfm. <googles>. Yes, many people with
icing problems seem to recommend that one.
