I had me bike out for a nice little run this morning. I reckon that
little jaunt cost me about 50 pounds a mile and all I got for it was a
    cage and a new lid.

No the bindit. I did about 60 miles and spent three grand. Just as
well I didn't go to Tescos as well I suppose.

A high mileage aged auto diesel people carrier thing and a Caberg front
lifter with integral dark visor in a metallic version of the one true
    colour.

  8. Those diesels are blerdy economical. I get 50mph out of mine, easy.

I'd be interested to know how you get on with the lifter, I'm tempted to
buy one for the Summer and the up and coming Chimay trip.

Any lid on special offer is a fine lid, imho.

It is very light considering it is a front lifter and has the flip down
visor thing. I haven't road tested it for noise yet, that will be
    tomorrow.

I have had lifters for years now. Frankly I couldn't ever see me going
back to fixed front lids, the lifters are just so convenient. Noisy
    though.

  11. Last time I bought a FF lid, I was looking at the lifters and almost
went for a Roof Boxer but it was the weight, as you say, the huge gaps
around my temples and the price that put me off.

My flip front is the quietest helmet I have ever owned. On the way back
from last year's EOSM I didn't wear earplugs for the first time in
    years, didn't need them.

Each year, the carbs freeze on my Bandit when I ride it in the cold, and
every year I make a half arsed effort to look for UK spec carbs with
    heaters or heaters.

It just means that I have to ride my CG when it gets cold, which is no
    real hardship.

I can't find anything on the packaging that says how heavy it is but the
difference between it and my Xlite is quite noticeable.

That is all down to your head shape innit. Certain manufacturers might
    not suit you.

They had lifters as cheap as 75 quid in the sale. Prolly that tat that
    Lozzo punts out.

  15. I'll stick with my matt black pisspot with studs on the front for now
    then ;o)
Yer. High cheek bones and a sort of dented in temply bit. The Shoei I've
got at the moment isn't too bad but the Shark I had before it was mighty
    comfortable[1]
I've tried on a few of Lozzo's lids of varying models and sizes and I
found them all to be shite :)

[1] Got very loose very quick, though.

I've just bought a new helmet [1] but he didn't have my size in the
colour I wanted so I'll have to go back. A pretty expensive 120 miles.
Although at £175 Wesson's is the cheapest stockist.

[1] Five years; three crashes and countless drops; not too bad.

  17. People have been tootling around on 'nice' days here in Alberta. -5C and
these folks are bombing around. Great on the main drags, but theres lots of
snow and ice on the side-streets, not to mention pea-gravel. Guess I'll
wait awhile - I'd rather not see my exhaust condensing as I drive.

    soon..

And does it have a sun visor like the Laser?

Nitro F317-V and it doesn't have a sun visor. 89-99ukp and fibreglass
    not polycarb.
