    Hello All,

Eventually after much nagging my better half has decided to join the
leather clad road users :). The BIG supprise for me is that instead of
the bike I thought she would want she has decided she wants a TRIKE.

My question is does anyone know of a good place in East Anglia that she
could go and have a look around to finalise her idea of exactly what she
wants ? Are there any good website recommendations for helpful tips for
her or do any Trikers (is that a word?) have any advice for her as a
    beginner?

    Thanks In Advance

no darsy, the honest truth is she has had a few friends tat have died
while piloting two wheeled machines and she would feel safer on a trike.
I am pleased that she has eventually agreed to give this a try.

You may not agree with her choice of bike/trike and i'm sorry for that,
she is not a mong but you are most definitely a WANKER!!!

No Darcy is right, riding a trike when not specifically restricted to
doing so by disability, is most definitely Mong. A decent open 4
wheeler is superior in every way, Caterham etc. TBH I don't know why
even those with disabilities don't go that way.

Or a trike with two wheels at the front - like the Grinnall with
nitrous driven by a mong I know.

Then it's not a fucking trike is it! The main characteristic of a
trike is a single front wheel with not a lot of grip or steering
ability. The Grinnal is a powered 3 wheeler. There's pedantry for you!
TBH I would still go for the Caterham type solution.

The only time they've appeared 'fun' to me, is when I've watched Reliant
racing down at the local banger track.

Full contact it is, too, so not only does the sliding about look fun, but as
an added bonus, it's helping to reduce the amount left in the world, in
    working order.

    Who hasn't?
Give what a try? You thought she'd want a bike, but she's going for a
trike. Are you just excited about the leather?
Most blokes are, it seems to be genetic.

If she wants "safe", why bother with powered transportation at all.
Trikes have all of the disadvantages of bikes, with none of the
advantages. Really, she'd be better off with a car.
    It's not a question of agreement. Trike's are - at best - a narrow
compromise, allowing those who want some association with /bikes/ but
can't or won't ride a proper bike some degree of "biking" experience.
But they're stupid looking, ill-handling abortions. To be honest, even
a bike+sidecar combination is a more aesthetically pleasing option than
    a trike.
it was a simple question based on the type of people who normally
    "ride" trikes.

  16. Really?, they appear to have the filtering ability of a car coupled
with the weather protection of a bike. A strange definition of fun and
certainly of no real use to man or beast.
I fear that you're on a loser there, most trikes I see appear to have
been assembled by someone with too many thumbs from the parts bin at a
washing machine factory. Atheistically pleasing they are not.

There is one disadvantage of bikes they don't have - they're not as
easy for thieving scrotes to pick up & stick in the back of a van. But
if you just want 'wind in your face' motoring, buy an old Landy or SJ &
drive around with the windscreen down (which is suprisingly good fun).
