It's tough being a biker in Canada

Point of order, not bought but leased in exchange for use of the Suffield
    training area.

A bargain at twice the price they were, but not without some fairly well
    known problems.

But, generally, it's good practice not to be on the surface, with both
    hatches open, in high seas.

  2. "You just couldn't let it lie, could you." I refer the honourable gentleman
to this extract from 'The "R" Word' *less* than a week ago:

"I could do that, but the problem is that if I say, 'OK, I'll be
nice for a week', then the petty cunts like Loz and Pip will go out
of their way to 'noise me up', just to get me to respond."

Perhaps the honourable gentleman could refer the House to the specific point
in this conversation at which anyone has attempted to 'noise [him] up'. It
strikes me that the honourable gentleman simply cannot live without being
the centre of attention and, in the absence of anyone insulting him, applies
the jump-leads to his own gonads and launches off on one, selecting Loz as
    his target of choice.

Pot Airways flight 229 is currently in a holding pattern over Roissy, where
French air-traffic controllers will shortly introduce him to KettleJet
    flight 532.

Taken you long enough. Perhaps you'll join the rest of us in out
kf-heaven so we don't even get to see his witterings second-hand.

Having just read his second-hand attack on me, I can't agree more.

I've done -10C. It was COLD with the windchill. REALLY
DARN COLD at 50mph. I was well layered and double fleeced
    - except for my hands. They were in uninsulated leather
gloves. REALLY COLD hands. I tucked them into the fairing
and onto the engine block whenever I got a chance. I also
kept the 50mph bursts under control - and generally stuck
    to the 30mph speedlimit. ;)

In exchange for use of the training area? I thought they were leased for
$750 Million, obviously I haven't been reading the right reports.
They're confined to port, not really getting their money's worth out of them
at the moment. Admittedly the Canadian government has only paid about $897
million so far for subs which would have cost about $750 Million each for
Canada to build themselves. That leaves a lot of money left over for the
    continuing repairs that are required.

And as usual, not totally effective. Productivity has been plummeting
over the last few years, due to overuse of chemicals and salts in the
    soil.
I guess they've never seen the huge area already paved over on the
road from Algiers to Tamanrasset, which regularly gets covered by
    blown sand.

Don't always believe the press. It may be that the nominal value of the
training area usage would be that sort of number.
Apparently, and I can't really be arsed to find a reference for this at the
moment, the Australians have spent $5.5billion to design and build their own
boats and are in a pretty similar state. I'm sure Google will throw up some
    tidbits.

Excellent point! Let me amend my statement:

"And yet, without the US, you'd be speaking German or Russian right now..."
