You're just not getting into the spirit of this thing, are you? Just for
that I'm not naming the ballroom after you.
    Eh? Which workroom?

About what it'd go for around my way too. Oh, 'ang on, it's terraced.
OK, a bit less than that then.

  6. That is a *nice* looking house. Lovely period features inside, love
the fireplaces. New kitchen, too, by the looks of things...

I wonder if Will can get a job at Newcastle Uni...?

  8. The library idea is not an indulgence. We've turned our 5th bedroom into
a library with floor to ceiling shelves. It's great to be able to walk
in and find what you are looking for. Believe me!
Being indulgent is turning one of the rooms into a cinema.

    Yes.

FWIW I thought a "period feature" was the black eye that I normally sport
about that time of the month.

  15. Not necessarily - our surveyor (who was a bloke) suggested that 'the
lack of period fireplace and unsympathetic replacement' was the major
downside to our house. Which was the one thing we had agreed needed
changing straight away when we moved in.

Having nice fireplaces, or none at all, makes a bloody big difference
in a room, given how much room/wall space they can take up.

Did you count the attic as a bedroom? Isn't there some rule that says you
can only officially call it a bedroom if you've notitfied someone (planning
office) of change of use or some other stipulation? This is something I
vaguely remember from some TV makeover/refurb programme, so I've probably
mis-rememeberd so, in the true spirit of UKRM, am almost certainly talking
    bollocks.
