It's not a motorcycle advert...

  1. Hey you're not alone there Owen. Adverts make me well up all the time,
even ones for banks (glares at the people dissing the nice advert).
I watched Jo Brand's thing about why people cry, which she can't and she
spoke to Richard E Grant, who can bring on the tears with a thought.
I kind of felt sorry for Jo, the hideous old trout, for not being in
    touch with her emotions.

  2. No kidding. At 13 I died then was revived after an operation, then had
a major car crash, then nearly drowned in a sailing accident. Since
then I've lived every day like it is my last and have had no regrets.

  3. Maybe the time was preparing the dusty old shed bikes?

  4. Wrong. Death is what gives life meaning. And generally the closer I
get to it the better time I am having.*

    *On a motorbike anyway. : )

Whilst waiting for the bike to be MOTd yesterday, I picked up a copy of
The Sun and after ogling the tits[1] for a few minutes, read an
interview with Jade Dernbach, who has that tattooed on his right arm.

    [1] Nice.

If that helps you to rationalise your own mortality and hide the awful
truth from yourself .. who am I to argue?

  9. What utter fucking bolllox. It is the sex, drugs and rock 'n roll that
give life meaning. Death is for pussies.

Nice juxtaposition. Would she have made an exception for existential
    despair?

Heh, yeah, I noticed that as I was hitting send. But I'm not 'in despair'.
I'm just conscious of the futility of everything that we do.

  14. So what else is new? There's no point at all, as everything will turn to
dust eventually. So what? Get on with it.

I never imagined the England Cricket team would have more totty than the
soccer team, which appears to be a bunch of old hasbeans in comparison.
