    The XJ900

Had a 2nd had diff and a new shaft fitted (shaft had "snapped" [1]) and
    bits had chewed the diff.

This appears to have happened many thousands of miles ago, I had wondered
what the "pause" then "thunk" had been on take off for a while.

What is more interersting, is that the "head shake" appears to have gone,
more hands of bar testing to be done, if that is the case then the shaft
may have had an issue since the accident in 1999 !

[1] A bolty springy type bit by the diff.

Oh, you all know what I mean, the drive housing thing that has gear cogs
in it that transferes the shaft rotation to the wheel and eliminates the
    corriolis effect.

If the bevel box is on the right then it will in the northern
    hemisphere.
