  1. Managed to get the new bike home in one piece despite the greasy wet roads
and rain. It dried up a while ago and I finally finished all the usual
weekend running around, so have just put the first 70 miles on it. Despite
the 4/5000 rpm limit at the mo I'm in love already.

The bike seems tiny compared to my nine, the brakes are pin sharp and it
makes a gorgeous noise even with the standard can. Took a little while to
get used to tipping it into a bend as it feels like I'm sitting a lot higher
than other bikes I've ridden. This is probably just down to how low and
small the fairing as at the front, althought the seat height is marginally
higher than a ZX9. The only bad point I can think of at the moment is the
    mirrors - they're hopeless.

Looking forward to getting the first service out of the way so I can start
opening it up a bit more. Don't think it'll take me that long to cover it
    though :)

"3. Do treat it gently for the first 100 miles. You have to scrub in the
    tyres too, remember."

  6. I guess the dealers and manufacturers are just looking at reducing warranty
calls. if they told everyone "just don't thrash it too much in the first
thousand miles" they'd be asking for trouble. I think the balanced
approach - staying out of the red, using the rev range and the gears and not
unduly loading the engine - is a safe bet. Worked well on my last one
    anyway.

This will obviously depend on the damage to me and the bike :)
Funny, that's what the dealer kept saying (although without the
    Bwahahahahhaaaaa (1)).
Like I've never ridden a bike with new tyres before - I'd just traded in one
that was on it's forth set.

    (1) at least to my face anyway.

  9. Hee Hee. I'll call in help when my back and wrists can't take anymore.

Looks to be a lovely day - off out again in a bit. :)
