I got my Honda Shadow vt750 back the other day.
Got it on and off the trailer without a scratch.
Rode it from Warwick to Toowoomba and back on Sunday and survived without an
    incident. Woohoo!

Ride up at midday was beautiful.
Ride back at 8pm was freezing though.

Yay - glad it all went without a hitch - were you nervous, DM?

    When's your knee op?

    Oh yes!
Even more nervous the other day when I returned to the turnoff where it
happened. In the dry this time. This time I reached my destination safely.
    Tuesday next week.
The friend I was visiting when I stacked it is taking me down to Brisbane
for it. No riding or dancing for me for a couple of months at least.

Best of luck with it , and make sure the preasure tube bandage is firm
    without being tight .
Oh and get some Panadol Osteo as a minimum

Good luck - hope it all goes smoothly and that your rehab is quick. Say yes
to drugs. (erm, the legal ones, I mean!)

Staying in the RAP for a few days? Let me know which one and I'll
smuggle in some booze and decent tucker.

    Cheers,
    Mark.

Thanks for the offer but I'm back home now. Day after the op they let me out
and the SES whisked me away for a 6 day peer support course. I'm now
officially soft, but I'm sure it will wear off over time ;-)

Op went well, oxycodone is good but I'm running out so I switched to
codeine. Go back to see doctor in Brisbane on Friday.

Glad it went ok - will you need lots of rehab/physio, to get it working
    properly again?

Yes, I have a program that starts with rocking my foot up and down and
finishes 4-6 months later running circles on a hillside. It doesn't look like
    fun.

Its far better than the alternative though. The crook knee made rockabilly
dancing painful and it would have been the end of my role in vertical rescue
with the SES. The operation is some short term pain for a long term lifestyle
outcome. My shiny newly new Shadow will be in the garage for a few months
    though :-(

On the upside it will be much warmer next time I take it out.

As one who is going through a similar although no doubt less painful
process, allow me to wish you all the very best for your recovery.
Please keep us up to date on progress.

Goodo! Your post seems to have gone down a USENET bit-bucket, so sorry
for the delay. There is something odd about the aus.* USENET over the
last few weeks. I need to have a little sneak around given time.

Glad the op went OK! :) Don't worry about being soft! You're a
Brylcream boy, we real men expect it from you! ;-)

I am as busy as **** at the moment, but gimmie a few weeks and I'll see
if I can arrange a lunch.

    Cheers,
    Mark.
