Swapped one of my old 70s Jap four dinosaurs for a pair of KMX200s a few
months ago but haven't had the time to fuly check them out until today.
dodging the thunderstorms I managed to get the one with V5C alive. Not too
much hassle except for the clutch plates all stuck together and a little
welding on the exhaust pipe. Charged up the battery for an hour or so and
    off it went no problems.
I've *seriously* missed having an off-roader, and being a stroker is a
massive plus. Light weight and >35bhp = bloody good fun. Both of the bikes
have nearly new Pirelli MT19/21s fitted too which is another bonus.
MOT next week and then Salisbury Plain awaits.

It'll never match my last 'road legal' off roader though. My '87 KX500 was
just *mental*. It's probably just as well that I sold it before I could
really hurt myself. The bloke who bought it wrote off his company car and
his pelvis in his own _drive_. I did tel him that he really shouldn't use
first or second on tarmac. Plonker.
The KMX though is a lovely little tool. Wheelies off the throttle, and is
generally a very well balanced good mannered bike (unlike the KX was). I am
looking forward to giving it a workout on the rough next weekend. It's also
handy to have a complete bike as a spares donor.

  4. I've *always* liked those 200s, and they're damned hard to find now. A
spunky 200cc engine in a 125cc chassis. Lovely.

Top tip - there's no radiator fan, so they *do* tend to overheat if
    bogged down in mud.

Noted Ta. I do have a fan kicking about somewhere though. I may have to fit
it as I'll be in the mid a fair bit.

The guy who bought the KX was showing off to a few of his mates at his
house, popping a few small wheelies etc (1). He decided to give it some
beans in second and it 'sort of got away from' him (2) and he ended up
piling it into the B-pillar of his company Mondeo and breaking his pelvis in
    the process.

    (1) This is how it always begins...
    (2) And this is the inevitable result. *Always*. That bike could _smell_
    inexperienced/overconfident riders
