Next project bike: 1984 GPz900R-A1 in very original condition. Although I've
had this bike at my place for over 2 years, I didn't actually own it until
today. It belonged to a mate who had no storage space. Finally he agrees to
sell it to me for a reasonable price. Considering it had not even been
started for over 20 months, a quick 30secs turning over with a drop of oil
down the bores, check for coolant, oil level etc, and it started on the
second stab of the button (from a spare battery mind!). Sounds *very* sweet
too. Now for all the little jobs he was going to get round to when he
originally brought it to my workshop....fork seals, front calipers to be
rebuilt, chain & sprockets to replace....etc...etc..
I always wanted a 900R when they first came out. I suppose it's now doen to
whether I keep the FJ1100 (most likely) or the 900R. Let the fun begin.

  2. Sorry, but a Black Shadow is there.

    And:

    Morini 350 Sport

A Kwack triple - not sure which. An H2C, I reckon.

Laverda Jota: an early 180 degree model with the upright rear shocks.

A Guzzi Le Mans Mark Two

    A Yamaha XT600E

    Ducati 916

    Air-cooled Suzuki TS250ER

One of those amazing dual-shocked cantilever MZ250 enduro bikes (sweller
    will know the model)

    A 1500 Wing

A current model Triumph Thunderbird (I just think they're cool).

Nope. Never really liked them, but a Silk 2-Stroke....mmm ....
Had an old 500. Nice but not as an only biker as back then. (I walked. I
    pushed. A *lot*)
My dream bike at the time. Finally got one in '84, an ex Slater Bros works
bike. Amazing but too high for me. (32" seat height, and me: 29" legs)
    Prefer a stroker.
    Different. Very different.
    Add to that:

    An original, standard 350LC
    Any RG500
    A KR1S
Another Stan Stevens proddy race X7
    A Montjuic (in Orange!)
    A spare Montjuic (in Green!)
Another 180 Jota. This one I *will* get a Motodd frame kit for.
    Another Halco XS650 (1152cc!)
    Another KX500
    An original 1000 Exup
    An early Ducati 900SS

The list is bloodty endless I swear it.

  4. Yeah, maybe
No: never did it for me.
    As above
    As above
I thought it was one of the most dreadful bikes I've ever ridden.
    As above.
I *nearly* put an XS650 down. But I've owned thee.
    Yeah, maybe.
Yes. But I'd prefer the Mike Hailwood Replica

  6. Yes, one of those. Not the Simson pictured there, but the green
MZ-badged one. I still think it was criminal that MZ never put it into
    volume production.

One of the best-looking[1] off-road bikes I've ever seen. And
    world-class competitive as well.

    [1] In the "businesslike" sense.

Ooops, the Simsons somehow crept in.

I've got some other pictures of a regional motocross event I went to near
Zechlinhutte[sp?] - GDR in 1988. I'll have to dig them out.

Why would I take pictures of signal boxes?

Because they're in Wales, and you need a lot of funny handshakes to get
    anywhere?

  11. I wouldn't.

    Nor would Dodger, I'll wager.
