It never pains but it roars...

  1. As if having the motorbike lifted from the backyard wasn't bad
enough, now some Genevois scrote lifted my PDA/GPS from my shirt pocket
on the No 10 bus this afternoon.

A gang of about 5 descended on the bus at my next-to-last stop,
before I was to change to the No 9 to CERN. I'd just put the PDA in my top
pocket after tracing the route as I'm unfamiliar with this way of transfer
(the buses I'm used to weren't due for 30 mins or more). One of them
created a diversion by dropping a key on the bus steps and then holding
the others up while he scrabbled for it. Meanwhile another had come in
the other side of the door and stood by my side. When they finally got
on, I noticed one from the back pass a wallet to the 3rd guy onto the
bus, an older chap with grey hair. I realised what they were and made
sure I protected my wallets until I got out after them at the next stop,
but when I went to pull the PDA out of my pocket and switch it off, the
pocket was empty except for my 1 GB USB stick (whose lanyard was looped
    through the pocket flap buttonhole...).

Meanwhile the lodger went home to Bristol for a while, and someone
stole her pushbike from another friend's yard while she was away.
