As I was cleaning the garage yesterday afternoon, I started to notice a really cool motorcycle stuck way off in the back. It was a shiney creature that I hadn't seen in quite sometime. Now, with me being all into sportbikes, this one was a bit pe-cue-lee-er. I looked and peered at it, and finally decided to see what this thing would do. I stuck some voltage to this beast and after a couple hours working on it, it fired up. Whew! "Thump, de thump, de thump". She was brought to life. Well, I quickly jumped out of my shorts and flip flops to get into some jeans and shoes. I stuck my hat on backwards and out I went. I was on the service road and recalling just how great this motorcycle was to ride. It was cushy and everything. As I rounded the turn just about to get onto the highway, I kicked her into 5th and rolled on. I guess I almost got a little "Bob Segar" moment going there....then "fire went out". "SHIT!!!!". I went through the usual "run-throughs" trying to get it started before we got stopped. I found a good place to land her where she'd be out of the way in case we didn't make it. One hand on the starter button, one hand on the clutch and one hand on the choke cable. Nope, fire was out for good and we rolled it in for a stop. I stood there thinking of how she went down and thought it could only have been one thing. I called my wife to get the Jeep and come get me. Once she arrived, we parked it up and went to fetch the trailer. You wouldn't believe it. That machine went on the trailer like it was made for it. After I got home, I went to thinking more about it and got the bike off the trailer and put back into the garage. I opened the gas tank and leaned around on the bike trying to hear some sign of sloshing. Nope. Nothing. I ran the bike out of gas and didn't think twice about it. I realized what it might've been and I was right next to a gas station when it happened. But with trying to get it going again before I stopped, I'd pretty well ran the battery down to the point even if I'd got gas I wouldn't have been able to get it started again. So, Bjay, you can get your "uppity rocks" off knowing that the mighty V-Twin over here finally found it's way on a trailer. So far, that's two of my three bikes that's found it's way up there. Both have been because of mechanical difficulties. At least I didn't pull into a motorcycle dealer "SWEARING" the motorcycle is broke.... :-) Next thing you know, I might actually go down the wrong highway leading a bunch of motorcycles....oh wait, that's happened too!!!
