The 10R has had a nice expensive 16k mile service (1), I've plastic welded the seat unit that broke 4 years ago and let go again last year when I was on the Island and I've cleaned it for the first time in over a year. I'll be fitting new tyres (2) when I know if the new wheels will be here in time because I'd sooner leave the existing tyres on stock wheels and just fit new ones on the new wheels rather than fuck about swapping them around. I've got a set of EBC HH (3) front pads ordered because even though the old ones aren't doing the full metal-metal bit yet they look a bit close to the limit to be fucking about. The only thing left to do is to sort out what I'm taking in the way of luggage and then it's game on. (1) Apparently the valve clearances have a tendency to go tight at 12k so I threw it in for a big service. They were fine so that's a few hundred quid down the toilet but at least I know they're ok. (2) Dunlop Qualifier RRs. I've had much entertainment muddying the waters on the clique mailing list today but it's not my fault if people are indecisive. (3) I know they'll warp my discs and/or wear them out within 100 miles but I'm doing it to make others smile at my stupidity.
