    <satisfied glow>

I've just fitted a handlebar, brake lever and throttle winder to the
daytona, and started it up for the first time since the off.

With the obligatory setting-the-alarm-off out of the way, ignition on,
flick the kill switch and press the starter.

By god it's loud in a garage when you've not opened the door.

I'm going to have a beer while I wait for my hearing to come back.
There's only the rider footpeg assembly[1] to fit, then the fairing
panels[2] and mirrors and it's ready to roll.

[1] Had a bumper crop from ebay at the weekend, saving nearly 200 quid
on new prices of various bits[3]. Unfortunately the seller sent the
RHS assembly to the wrong person, so that's a couple of days behind.
[2] Repairs underway to the front and side as per suggestions here, to
be used until suitable replacements turn up. Got a new belly pan
    sorted out already.
[3] Thanks again to Pip for continued patience and sound advice.

Excellent, that's the good thing about getting your bike back on the
road again... it being nearly back on the road. :)

Here, I was going thank the brothers Bonwick for help (in both fixing
bits and supplying bits), yourself for ferrying and being generally
wonderful and helpful, and everyone else for their offers of advice and
help when I actually got it back on the road and rode it.

But, while we're here, big thanks to the brothers Bonwick and Adie and
    everyone else, etc.

It's the plastic bit twixt the grip and bar that you attach the
throttle cable to and, well, wind it in and out with. In the course of
my parts search I saw it referred to as such, and I think it suits.

They must've vibrated out a bit en route. I'm still thankful though.
