So, after the off, I have to leave bike at scene [1] (can't be ridden)
to get docs etc etc. Mrs comes to take me home. Call insco, they give
    me number for recovery.

Recovery driver 1 phones. 'Can't find bike'
Explain with diagrams where it it
Calls back 10 mins later 'Got it, but can't load it from there on my
    own, will get another driver'

Take wife to parents, return from parents and two things happen:
    1) Rear tyre on 156 blows, and the wheel brace dunt fit the damned nuts
    2) Call from pickup driver No. 2. 'Can't find bike'
Except he *really* can't find the bike. They've looked for about 2 hours
now, and I'm pretty sure they are in the right place, so looks like it's
    gone.

Veggie, dunno if you want to take a spin down to the end of the 414 near
the A10 and see if it's there, do you?

Bad form, but my missing footnote:
[1] Hands up all those that really didn't need to read past this point
to work out where this was going......

It probably means they're at the end of their shift and are stalling
till the next guy gets the job.
    He he !

It's funny, when these things happen on warm summer days next to hotels
providing fine food and alcohol they don't seem as bad ;-) .

Nightmare - your claim from his insco will be fubared because there is no
bike to inspect. Your insco may want to reduce yout theft claim on the
grounds that the bike was damaged.

No, not a one. Good stuff from HG. I feel a little tender in places,
esp around my back from lifting the thing with no help from Mr Honda
    They deny all knowledge, sadly.

I reckon I've worked out where the bike's gone too. Nicked, obviously. It
happened to a pal who binned his Thunderace and had to walk to a phone box
coz his mobile was smashed when he came off. Got back to the bike, not 20
    minutes later and no bike.

Turned out to be a "Good thing" though, coz he wasn't insured fully comp, so
the 'Cat would've cost him to repair rather than him being paid for it being
    nicked.

Well, the insco appear to be prepared to pay up, but that will take a
few weeks. The legal bods reckon that it will be all due to the driver,
cos had he not hit me, the bike would not have been there to be nicked.
    So we shall see.

Logical enough, which is strange for an insco.

It would be, but it's the legal company, not the insco :)
