It always amazes me.

I've been using my gixxer a lot lately and I've been getting a bit
cold [1], not just my hands but all over but my hands were the worse.
This morning I had a meeting in Cambridge. It was snowing and quite
cold so I decided to dig out my old heated gloves [2]. I still wore
the same jacket and winter trousers. To my amazement I didn't feel the
cold at all. In fact I felt quite warm. Even my feet felt OK.

To the medically inclined: Is this something to do with warming the
    blood at the wrist?

[1] Cue comments about being a grandmother.

    [2] I didn't need them last winter.

Dunno, but I want some if they are that good.

Blood at the wrist is the closest to the outside of your body. In the
summer, running the undersides of the wrists under a cold tap can make you
feel cooler quicker. Or something like that. IANAD. YMMV. etc.

I was halfway through this before I realised that arterial shunt wasn't
an accident on a big road. (look daddy. see the big road. can we go fast
    on the bike again?)[1]

[1] Just remembered years ago trying to explain to SO that I *hadn't*
done 90 through the town centre - little 'un was looking over my
shoulder at the rev counter, not the speedo.

    That actually makes sense.
When teaching CBT we go to great lengths to explain why the cold make
you lose concentration. Try doing this in the winter when you're
    freezing.
Perhaps some single malt might be a good idea before we ride?

You're always going on about buying stuff for Elly. Are you having an affair
