On my "may do"list". It is two ferries and 2x400 miles runs away, which is
    kosher for my laziness.

Anyone been there on a bike and has some opinion on that trip?

Be very careful on the roads when you get there. Don't do the bridge at
rush hour at either end of the day. 2 ferries from where? Italy to Izmir
by ferry and then up Turkey a bit also gives you time to accustom
yourself to the local driving habits.

Should be rocking! Do it! I would.

I did some full year in Madrid, I know it's like comparing 125 to MotoGP,
    but it's a start :)

    Ferries:

#1 Depart from Barcelona after dinner, disco on board all night long,
morning for sleeping hangover and then Rome at lunch time.

#2 400 miles to Brindisi, then ferry to somewhere in northern Greece and
some other 400 miles to Istambul.

Return, could consider some ferry to Trieste/Venice, then Dolomiti/Alps.

I knows. Grand grand grand grand grand grand grand dad went on contract
there. He was the first of the family to work abroad on contract and make a
total mess of it for their customers.

Gmaps says 567km for Rome Brindisi, 911 for Igoumenitsa-Istambul, you are
    right, thanks.
    Nice trip.

  9. Or #3 Barcelona-Montpelier-Monaco-Venice-Slovenia-Croatia-
Hungary-Romania-Bulgaria and across to Istanbul. Looks like a pretty
good route to me. About 3,500k.

One of the constraints is a two weeks hols, that leaves me some 16 days, and
I'd like to have non-bike days. Also, I like ferry traveling :)
