Isn't getting insurance fun?

Well, I've got the cash in the bank, and due to pick the bike up this
afternoon not too long before I have to go to work (pah!).

So it seemed a good idea to get cover for the bike, and the best idea
seemed to be to go through my current brokers. Which was fun. I've
been cut off whilst dealing with someone who clearly didn't want to be
there, then passed around 4 different people (whilst listening to the
usual droning music and 'your call is important to us' crap) before I
spoke to someone with a clue.

Apparently, my current ins co. won't cover a CBR600. Eh? Too much of
a risk! It's not a bloody Fireblade I'm trying to get insurance for,
    just a middle-of-the-road middle-aged persons sports tourer.

Oh, I believe things could've been even harder to get insurance on a
600 after a 400 had I not had experience of comparative (and in some
    instances larger) machines.

Insurance companies - don't you just love 'em.

Now, let me see. Shite old GS for <90, or a CBR600 for <150. I know
    which one I'll take, thanks.

I wasn't complaining about the cost of the insurance, more about the
    fact that insuring a CBR600 wasn't a doddle.
