We are a producer of a new type of light weight, reusable anti-
pollution mask (TOTOBOBO). It has been tested by cyclists but we are
not sure if it make sense for motorcycle rider. Brief features of the
    new mask :

    1) Very comfortable (light weight and flexible)
    2) Transparent, so you can check and adjust the fit easily
    3) Reusable mask, disposable filters

    For details, please check www.totobobo.com

Does it fit inside a helmet?

    Dear Spamming ****,

Please supply references to the peer-reviewed research that demonstrates
the health benefits of wearing your mask.

It stick out about 2cm from the nose. Not sure if there is enough room
    inside the helmet.

You'll need to find that out then, before you try to sell them to the biking
    community.

    Good point.

Perhaps we can organize a free test for those interested?
Anyone interested in a free mask/filter and agree to share your
    experience in this group?

send one to Ken at the address on http://www.k2a.co.uk/k2_contact.html

I'm sure he'll use your mask and quite happily share his experience. It may
    not involve bikes, mind.

Not me but maybe someone else will step forward. Of course motorcyclists
don't suck in half as much air as pedal cyclists do so they probably won't
    notice the benefits as much.

Of course if you could incorporate some sort of device which would deliver a
painful voltage to the wearer if they went through a red light, or cycled
the wrong way round a bollard or down a one-way street, or failed to display
lights at night or terrified an elderly person trying to make their way
legitimately along a pavement, I'd positively encourage any move to make
    them compulsory.

A French consumer magazine tested some some years ago. Most are
completely inefficient. The few which marginally are, could be
considered for pedal bikes, but people on motorcycles in the traffic are
not breathing heavily and do not stay long in pollutant clouds.

Not sure if this is useful, but when I was in Japan (Tokyo) and asked
why some people wore masks, it's out of politeness... the wearers
apparently have colds, etc.. and don't want to spread their germs -
    was someone pulling my leg??!!

Yes, this is true in Japan, Taiwan, Korea and Hong Kong.
Would be very useful to know why those are not effective?
Nice thought, but keep the pollution out is the main purpose of our
mask. It can keep the air warm in winter. but that's about it.

Nearly as useful as seeing the peer-reviewed proof that yours is, eh?

Unless, of course, you don't have any.
