I had kinda guessed that from other tales. How big on a scale of 1 to
    Verdigris?

    You'd send a complete novice off-roading on a Transalp? You're an evil,
    evil man!

I just thought he would use it more on road than off, and any
off-roading would be gentle green lanes and gravel tracks. I've been
thinking of a Transalp for just that kind of thing.

  6. My XT is probably one of the best things I've bought in a long while
although I had nil previous experience of this type of bike so can't offer a
comparison. It's easy to start when cold or hot, it's the inbetween stage
where it turns into an object of verbal abuse.

I took my dog out for a walk.
While it was pissing on Jim's leg, he seemed distracted by:
Howze about ye olde RV125? Cheap, fun, and will get through puddles if
they're not too deep (or muddy).

I've recently purchased a Honda SL230 (admittedly it's more for
commuting than trailing!) but do not have anything in the way of an
owners manual or, better still, a workshop manual.

Can anyone help in my search for such a publication?

Net searches have so far turned up either Japanese enthusiast websites
(which do have some helpful photos - although the accompanying text,
even when translated, is amusing rather than informative!) or
references to Honda's 'Common Workshop manual' the relevance of which
to the SL230 I'm not sure of.

My bike is a '98 registered model originally from Japan but the SL230
is sold into Australia and New Zealand (North America also?) so there
is, presumably, an English language version of the manual knocking
    around somewhere.

(Apologies to John R as I've already e-mailed him directly, as a
former SL230 owner, asking the same question)

    Here's hoping
