    ....being slower than Ginge?

Dispiriting it was, watching him slowly creep away from me.

On the positive side, he was braking into the corners, where I was just
gliding round. Oh, and I got plenty of chance to ogle the ZRX... :)

Surely getting past Ginge just so you don't have to look at the bike anymore is a massive
    incentive! :)

Gings has got faster over the years. He's still alive and that in itself
is an achievement these days. Well done Ginge.

Yeah, I also know I can and have gone round similar corners at those
speeds without braking. I need to ride different and challenging roads
    more often.)

    Samaritans, how can we help?
Well, its just that I'm slower than Ginge and my mates are making fun of
    me. What can I do?

    I guess so.
And that you kept accelerating beyond 80mph.

On unfamiliar single carriageways, I don't tend to go much faster than
    that, so I ease off.

I'm not really a speed junkie, I suspect. I rarely go over 90mph for any
distance, whether I know the road or not.
Yup. On the A413 you were braking into corners without any reason, and not
really losing much speed in doing so.
It beats going in faster than you're comfortable with.

Next you'll be telling me that shafties can't wheelie...

It's something I learnt not to do whilst riding with IAM folk. I
probably still do it occasionally, but I really try not to.

It's part of the Roadcraft "take-use-give" information mantra... you
soon learn to partially disregard the info from the folk in front who
comfort brake a lot, and look for more useful sources of info. [1]

Equally, it's good to be aware of the information you're passing on
    when applying the anchors.

[1] I reckon that you can suss out a quality motorist by watching the
way they use their brakes. Someone with clue will rarely use 'em.

Nah. Ride your own ride. I think I'm slow but there are others who
are slower than me. As I don't have a representative sample to form
an opinion about my riding[1], this works for me.

    [1] That's my excuse anyway.

  16. It all depends how fast you are going, and how tight the bend is, and
how much engine breaking you have got...

It's like a bloody barge. I sat on it and felt like doing a Royal wave as it
was so 'up in the air'.

Hmm, well I liked nigels comment to me at the Englands rose...

"I've never seen someone lean a bike so far and yet go so slowly round a
    corner..."

In my defence, I stuffed up the bend :#/

See, for riding on a barge I don't do so bad.

You can appreciate what I mean about it not hurting my knackered wrist
though, and why most sportsbikes hurt me to ride.

Using the patented Mavis Bacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, dwb
T'was amusing. The Gixxer was hoiked right over on its earhole, and you
    were doing about 15MPH.
