So, that's you, me and Ace who disagree - that's a quorum to call the
    bloke an arse, isn't it?

    Here's a safe experiment.

Put about 10cc of petrol in an empty tin.
grasp a match with one of those flexible grabbers used for
picking up nuts and bolts from inaccessible places.
Light match and lower it into the tin at arms length.
This proves that a little petrol in a tin doesn't explode
    but does burn readily.

Repeat the experiment with a lit cigarette.

The cigarette will pass through all concentrations of petrol vapour
from fresh air to liquid petrol and will *not* ignite the vapour
or petrol. In fact the lit fag is extinguished with a hiss as it enters
    the liquid.

I expect that a fag attached to a tube with fresh air being blown
through it would be hot enough to ignite the vapour.
I have a few bits of leaky petrol pipe lying around.
I'm just going outside...I may be some time.

I was hoping for badass but arse will do.
It sounds more English, more refined and genteel.

    Thanks.

I've just been reading Lozzo's opinion of the GSX750F's - Chris googled
it for me as he thought it would make interesting reading (Chris did warn
me about the bike before I bought it, but I insisted that this was the
    one I wanted).

I agree completely with Lozzos description, especially the bit about the
brakes - however I still like it. It's not too big, and it was under £900
which pretty much matched all my criteria.

The things I forgot to budget for though were: road tax, new helmet,
leathers, boots, gloves, insurance etc. so my £1k budget has gone right
    out of the window <eek>.

I was in Bikes of Brighton today inquiring about a replacement chain for
my CG[1], and there was a very clean GSX750F parked outside, white it
was. :) If I hadn't bought my Bandit, I'd have ended up with a GSX750F
    myself.

[1]The old one is all knackered and seized after standing for a couple
of weeks, after its 100 mile thrash up the motorway.

I don't think so. The Groper and Scrotum-Head have been bad enough.
Another beardy weirdy would be intolerable.

TBH its not that bad, its kinda 75% of a fatblade, 75% the size, 75%
power, 75% brakes, but with a very similar riding position and power
delivery. Sounds nice above 10,000 though.

Heh, you'd hate it. But I can see why the owners like them. All the

This "Wicked Uncle" gig's pretty good you know. I can do full-on Durty
