Forks need new seals and front wheel bearings need replacing. So off they
Others may disagree, but if you haven't ever done fork seals then that
coupled with the bearings including labour don't sound *that* bad really.

  3. Sounds a bit cheap.
Dismantling the forks can be a right bastard of a job sometimes.

  4. Working on a tenner for the seals, slightly more for the wheel bearings,
a couple of quid for new fork oil, an hour and a half's labour, and
    VAT....

Sounds on the cheap side, if anything.

Working on a tenner for the seals, slightly more for the wheel bearings,
1/12 hours to reseal a pair of forks and fit front wheel bearings. I did say
I'd taken said items off the bike and taken them to the shop!
Will it really take em that long?

I'd be surprised if it took much less. Plus, they probably only work
    in half-hour units.

You'd do well to change a pair of fork seals in under an hour, from
    scratch.
