Or are P2P file sharing apps all a load of crap these days.

any suggestions for one that works? I have tried eMule and Kazaar Lite and
both either never get a result or the file is corrupt or renamed, or it
    takes FOREVER.

Bittorrent can be reasonable for films and tv shows.
Personally I would just get stuff from binaries newsgroups were I to want to
    do such a thing

And allegedly grabit from www.shemes.com would be a fine bit of software to
    use.

Purely theoretically I could have queued up a bunch of files to download
before I went to work and left them running at 120k/sec safe in the
knowledge that my pc would shut tself down on completion.

Someone who turns their computer off. How quaint.

Do you turn the tv off at the wall when you go to bed as well?

  16. Bittorrent is excellent for new or high demand files.

DC++ is good for files you can categorise, apps, TV eps...

Kazaa++ is not good for much at all anymore[1](

Well I may as well save a tiny bit of electricity , plus the main one is
fairly noisy and in my bedroom so it would keep me up at night.
Of course not. Then I'd have to get out of bed in the morning to turn it
    back on.

Ain't a fucking patch on Easynews, though it was / is rather good.
TBH I used easynews even when I worked for Clara.
