Is "ironic" the right word?

    I work on overpayments of state benefit, for my sins.

    A letter from Tax Credits was waiting on my doormat, this afternoon...

    Guess what? They think I've been overpaid!

    Made me chuckle, because during the period they're waffling on about,
    I didn't get any sodding Tax Credits!

    <phones Tax Credits and requests reams of paperwork>
