Many thanks, Robert.. Somehow I missed these comments when I was
playing catch up.. LOL... That's what happens when a guy takes some
    time out..

Nothing professional about me.. What you see is what you get.. I write
like I talk.. And I say what I feel in my heart and mind..

You aren't supposed to agree with every opinion that I have..
(although.. that would be nice).. Many people do not agree with my
every thought or expression.. Sometimes .. I know that I am
controversial in a lot of my opinions and ideas..

Your kind words for my writing skills are surprising and very much
    appreciated.. Thanks again..

OH THANK GOD!!! I thought I was doing something wrong!

Yeah, but that is cool. Yourself and Brian are a bit more left than
me, and we have some interesting discussions because of it. The cool
thing is, we can still go for a ride on the weekend and have a good
    time.

I think it is supposed to be fairly nice today..... let me look real
    quick.

Looks like "isolated storms" sometime around 3:00pm and on.

Might be good for a ride? I need it to warm up just a tad, though.
My "heavy" jacket is getting repaired and all I have is my mesh
jacket. Let it come up a few degrees and I could probably put some
    miles in.

Looks like it's best for me to not get out.. I'm still alternating between
"good" and "not so good".. Ah well.. if we can keep your ol' leg from
getting sore again, at least one of us is out and about..

You need to use some other method to let people know about "rides". By
the time I read it, it's long past the time.

The wife and I got out earlier. We decided to go see what was going on
at Strokers. As we pulled out of Mesquite heading west, it was nice
weather. As we started through downtown and on the west side of
Dallas, the sky started getting dark and we started getting hit with
spitting rain. After a short time of Strokers, we left out and started
to head out the same as we came out there. Wrong! I didn't want to run
back into what was going through. We came back on Northwest Hwy and
did well, until we got off Northwest and started on Loop 12 toward
Garland Road. We ran smack into it!

All in all though, it was a nice short ride. Enough to get the
motorcycle run a little bit and see what was going on. BTW, it was
quite slow around Strokers...for being a Sunday.

Well you know.... I usually let people know far more in advance if
the ride is planned. Lately, they haven't been planned. It's been
more like "...I think I'll tool around on the bike for a bit."

I'm waiting for your dad to feel better so we can go grab some
catfish. When we figure that out you, and anyone else, would be more
    than welcome to come along.

Your heavy jacket, needs what? what can happen to a heavy motorcycle
jacket? just thought that was kinda odd? altho, I will say, my old pard,
well his leather jacket's zipper quit on em, cost em' 30.00 to get it
done, on his goodlooking Buffalo Hide jacket.......heehee bj

Well one of the seams had started to pull apart right under the
forearm where some of the armor is. I had someone re-stitch it with
some heavy duty stuff and then reinforce it. I just got it back last
night so I am good to go!

When I think of someone wearing "armour" on a motorcycle, I always
think of those old "safety commercials" they ran in the early '80s
trying to build support for laws to invoke against motorcyclists. It
had this guy standing in normal pants and a t-shirt and stocking feet.
They had this machine like thing you'd see hovering over a car's
assembly line carrying stuff over and putting on him. It put shoulder
pads on him, huge ass boots, these hip things, armour on the arms,
pants like you'd see on a football player made of something thick and
heavy...and a helmet. By the time it was done (in about 60 seconds or
so) the guy was so padded, there's no way he was going to get on a
motorcycle and ride it. Keep in mind also, this was before the designs
today. They were promoting this hoping people would catch on and use
this stuff so they could get support for their laws.

Some of those items that were in the commecial, you can see in movies
made back then. The Road Warrior is one and Back to the Future Part 2
    is another.

LOL - yeah, but they also wore a lot of dirt-bike armor and that stuff
is pretty intense. You know me....if you don't want to wear it, I'm
OK with that. I just chose to.

Oh, I know. And that's cool! I have my Joe Rocket and my helmet to
wear when I want. I mostly wear it because I get tired of nursing a
bad burn or getting a "Hank Hill" tan. Plus that, I can ride without a
shirt or a light t-shirt on and still be protected...and have people
say "man, that guy on that cruiser sure is geared up". On top of all
that, I look damned good in it! In the winter, I wear my leather
jacket that's about 3" thick and weighs about 40lbs. Of course, when
it's winter, I'm not going around without a shirt. :)

Now if I can just figure a way to wearing shorts and no shoes and
still be protected, then I'll be in business!!!

Yeah, I saw another squidly on a Gixxer750 the other day. He passed
me and was weaving fairly fluidly in and out of traffic. He did have
a helmet on, but otherwise it was a 1/2 shirt and shorts with
sneakers. At least it wasn't sandals, but that isn't saying much.

What really gets me is the squidlies with their chick on the back in
shorts, tank top and sandals. Ugggghh.... I pretty much won't let a
chick ride on the back of my bike like that (unless it's in the
    garage! LOL)
