Now that's racing! Unfortunately we've too many lawyers to allow such
fun...hell we can't even have a proper rallye in the states! I've
always felt that Going to the Sun Road and then US2 back to the other
park entrance could make a superlative race (after you took a milan to
all the tourists blocking the roads) le sigh.

It just takes a bit of State Legislation. Something like they passed in NI
    early in the last century.

The downside of Road Racing is meeting people in the pits and them getting
famous, then they all go and die on you.

Hog you missed a line "Unfortunately we've too many lawyers to allow
    such
fun...hell we can't even have a proper rallye in the states!"

Now here is what I think would be a HELL of a one lap race...with a
better view than any other race in the world.

Saint Mary, MT to West Glacier, MT to East Glacier Park Village, MT

    http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF-8&hl=en&tab=gl

If I did the link proper that's it on google maps...the connector
would be 49 to 89 to Saint Mary. Remember kiddies, don't feed the
Grizzlies and definately don't mess with the mountain goat kids or
    cougar kits. 8^)

BUT the lawyers etc would never let something like that happen in
America EVER...hell N. America had the Pan American until lawyers and
    legislature helped kill it.

<sigh> and people wonder why americans gather up late at night to drag
race on the streets late at night? They want street racing but it's
not allowed...rotten rat bastard legislators. 8^(

Oh well I still have opportunity to do things like cruising the 1,500
(no interstate) 23 jaunt one way to vegas...lolo pass in Idaho (might
    be doing that in june).

On the plus side I can STILL cross a continent without waving a
passport or changing languages...all in 50 hours or less. Not that I
    would, that's crazy.

Let's see if this works...the 3d google map of a nice little route for
a nice short one lap race.

    Mind the elevation changes.

    thought it was entertaining. KB

Well the do have the Newfoundland Targa but it's a Rallye. Run some
nice older cars in it even...this year there was even an old Audi GT
Group B car entered in the open class. 8^)

Sadly that's because the average septic isn't capable of enjoying a
race if they can't see the whole thing from the stands. 8^/ That's why
the morons as a whole don't appreciate things like Rallye racing.
