I'm looking for some advice re booking for the TT. I want to leave from
Heysham with my wife and the bike for the 2006 dates.

Problem is I cant book the ferry crossing yet (not allowing 2006 bookings)
but the guest houses are filling up fast. For the race week it looks as if a
nice guest house will be around £400 for a double room and I don't want to
put a deposit down if I cant get the ferry crossing dates confirmed.

Any advice would be welcome............(take a tent and leave the missus at
    home is not an option!).

Book the rooms now and book the ferry as soon as they'll let you.

I'd assume that ferry crossings will be roughly at the same times &
intervals as they are now. The worst that could happen is you might have
to leave a bit earlier on either end to avoid losing some of your deposit.

You can't make a booking now because all the dates are provisionally
taken up. Those who have made a provisional booking have to pay the
balance by 28th February. 2 weeks after the 28th vacant sailings are
released and you will be able to make a booking.

It might not be a sailing on the time or date that you want, but take
the nearest to what you do want and then contact the Steam Racket
regularly, you will be able to change the dates without incurring any
    further charges. [1]
Take a tent and the missus with you?

[1] Unless there have been changes recently that I am unaware of.

  4. IIRC its the 2006 not '05 dates the poster was asking for.
