    Heh, indeed. Interesting that the paper states that "Instant Magic" is
    100 (RON) octane. When I was researching the mods for both the S3 and
    the -12R, I contacted Shell UK to ask about Optimax's rating. "In
    excess of 98" was their response.

  4. Although, I reckon 100 is in excess of 98. I still reckon it's a
    triumph of marketing over science (like most snake oil).

    That theory works in my universe, too. I'd already been led to believe
    it was ~98 and thought I'd try and establish quite what that figure was.
    I thought their response was quite subtle.
    Heh, for some, maybe. For others, like myself, its the pump fuel of
    choice 'cause it does what others cannot.

    Of course, there's always Sunoco's 106(RON) racing unleaded, too...
