    that speedo looks way out
    253 in 3rd?
also he is going around some corners at over 200 kmh and the cars
coming from the other side look like they are crawling past.
They should have been flashing by.
    I reckon its a crock.

  4. Ummm... How many bikes have the speedo sensor on the back wheel?

Note as he's popping a mono the speedo's still perfectly functional, not
even frozen on the same reading.

Speedo is actually picked up off the front sprocket.
Smaller sprocket = higher speed at the speedo

Just about all of them have sensors on the front sprocket now. So ... umm
.... how's about 80% (atleast) of new bikes.

    Your eyeballs are way out.

He changed up from third into fourth at about 207. At 253 he was in fifth.

And the cars were "flashing by". Keep in mind the fore-shortening effect the camera will have.

Don't break up the sentence the joining word is "and" hence it is part
of a greater statement not a statement on its own.

So when you are doing over 200 kmh on the busa how do you perceive
    oncoming cars?
Do they seem to be crawling past you or flashing past you?

Erk I better get that checked.

I better have another look at that cos I swear I saw 3 on the dial at 253

I don't know, They didn't look like they were flashing by.
Not for the speeds the rider was doing at least.

    Shit Jack.
Won't find me doin that on the Spada!

Series1 R6 has a gearbox driven (hall effect sensor?) digi speedo so
it'll still work fine mid-wheelie. I hear speedo cables are bad for
    aerodynamics ;->

Seriously though no bike with a digital speedo is going to have a
sensor pick up off the front wheel. Makes no sense. No room to neatly
mount one and nothing decent to fire it at.

Disc bolt heads, a purpose-cast notch in the front wheel hub?

Aprilia RS250's have Hall sensors which count rear disc nuts; unaffected
    by gearing changes.

    Nope
I still stand by my 253 in 3rd
I still reckon that he was not going as fast as the speedo made it out
    to be.
