Oh font of all that is knowing, aka UKRM, where can I get a bike to bike
intercom that has a throat mike rather than a boom one. Me and Lucretia are
starting to plan a trip to my home land up north and with my want of racing
off we might just need one. A boom is no good as I have just changed my lid
to a Roof one with the face mask

Cheers for the advice and I just know I will now get flamed to hell.

If you race off into the distance then an intercom will be **** all use.
You'll get out of range fairly quickly.

Plan the journey with designated rendezvous points. This is the method I
have used when riding in a mixed ability group on a long journey. This
system only works of everyone can read a map.

For shorter rides: when riding with particularly slow riders [1] I tend to
ride at my own pace and stop periodically rather than dawdle along looking
    in my mirrors.

[1] for SteveH levels of slow

Both on machines with a good bit of poke ZRX 1100 and XJR 1300 only need 1
to 2 mile range as it is just the two of us but for fuel etc stops on a long
haul will be good. Planning a tour of Scotland in August to visit family
what I need is a throat mike. As I know the route but lucretia does not as I
have spent a lot of time up there and she may get lost in looking at the
countryside. Normally the thought of talking to another rider whilst on the
    move fills me with disgust!

AJ, Why not ask Autocom if they would adapt the Pro M1 unit or the leads on
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=1502&item=3818348708&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW
    to suit?

The Kenwood radios mentioned would do the trick also.
