Insurance - why do they always quote high

    Hi,

Why do the insurance companies give you an initial quote, you then tell them
you've got it cheaper, they then reduce it!?

Why not just be cheapest in the first place. Auntie Carole couldn't get
lower than £151, but told me they were a better company and I'd be much
happier if I went with her.

Got it for £139 instead of £167 [1]

  2. Alternatively...

H&R gave me the lowest quote I could find by a long way on my insurance
    renewal letter.

300 quid for fully comp on the R1. I couldn't get anyway near it by ringing
around. It's the first time I have ever accepted the first quote for
renewing my policy. Good attitude from H&R )

IME they're very good. Cheque for written off bike (and kept the bike)
within 10 days, the PI claim sorted within 11 months and the driver gave
false details so had to be hunted down.

Yes, I've got about seven bikes on the one policy; admittedly all
'classics' but I'm pretty sure they do modern multibikes.
