insurance weirdness (too many bikes?)

  1. Got an old GS550(1979), had it years insurance pretty cheap. Bought an
rd350r (1993) and they added it to my classic policy for £35ish (now £145
    comp for both).
Decided it was time for something better so bandit 1200 on the way :0),
can't add it to my classic policy coz I can't have 2 modern and one classic
    so yam has to go.

Due to classic insurance not being too bothered about no claims it hasn't
been collected and saved (11 years of classic insurance).
Now It's bandit £420 comp on its own, and yam £197 comp on it's own(no
    noclaims).
Adding bandit to classic policy and removing yam £125 (approx £250 a year
    for both),
leaving yam uninsured :0( (£197 not worth it as I wouldn't use it enough)
it's just a "toy", which I suppose the other 2 are.
Changed insurers a few times in the 11 years of classic insurance so no
record, apart from the last insurer sent me a letter giving 2 years claim
free don't know if I can use it or if it would make a big enough difference.

So I have learned too late to "watch your no claims you never know when your
    gonna need it"

Try Carole Nash or Express Insurance. I've just gone with Express and they
allow up to 5 bikes on your policy - I have 2 bikes on mine and can add
    (allegedly) without any prob.

I've got my three bikes insured with CN for £192, no problems.

Sometime around Mon, 30 May 2005 09:37:57 +0000, Muck babbled on about:
FJ and CN both do a deal where if you have a classic bike you can have a
modern bike on the same policy, so 2 classics 2 modern etc, my Daytona was
GBP550, yet with FJ it was GBP230 with my GT750 included(1)

I am with BMW insurance(2) now as additional bikes are charged at GBP10
    regardless of cc etc.

(1)Amazing how few people know about classic insurance.
(2)Still think they are tossers as they loose every piece of paperwork I
    have mailed over.

  9. Yup, that's the deal I got it was ok till I threw the balance in favour of
    the modern bike.
Need another shite old bike to redress the balance, and some more room.
