    So the cage insurance comes up for renewal, and after a bit of clicking
    about I get one a bit cheaper than the renewal notice. This is quite a lot
    cheaper than last year, which is nice.

    But anyway, the "Renewal Advice Note" that the outgoing ins co sent out as
    proof of no claims has the following:

    Basic: +21 Age: +2 OOD: -8 AOC: -2 CONV: +5 SCH: -9

    So what do the above mean?

    Basic = the programming language your insurer's system was written in
    Age +2 = "He's at least 2 years older than he's claiming to be"
    OOD = Occupation Offers Dangers?
    AOC = Any Other Claims?
    CONV = Convictions?
    SCH = Scary Crazy Hobbies? (like riding motorbikes)

  3. OOD is a boating term - it means Officer Of the Day.
    Could also be a police term.

    SCH is the noise made when they suck their teeth before
    telling you the massive premium. A bit like the noise a plumber
    makes.

    That the guy who designed the form plays too much D&D.

  5. Basic is the starting point.

    You get 2 extra points for your age (you're not young, but not an old
    **** either)

    OOD - owner only driving - 8? Is someone else driving too? Your 92yr
    old granny?

    AOC - Any other claims -2 . Have you claimed before?

    CONV - Convictions. Seems you score an extra 5 points for that bus queue
    you mowed down.

    SCH - Scheduled Corkscrewing Habit. If the schedule isn't set to screw
    you enough, they arbitrarily dock you some points just to make it look
    right to the underwriters.

    Based on car and location, I presume.
    True enough.
    Ah, that makes sense. Just me driving.
    Guessed that one, one previous fault claim.
    Guessed that too, CD10.
