Auntie Carole's new owners are too fucking expensive, that's for
    certain.

I've been on comparethemarket.com and found a decent quote from
Bikesure - has anyone got any horror stories like the usual "Bennetts
left me uninsured without telling me" or "Ebike said I was covered on
other people's bikes but I actually wasn't" type thing?

  2. Lozzo presented the following explanation :
Er, Ebike send a renewal by post and one by email. The postal quote is
always considerably more expensive then the emailed quote. Something to
watch for and be wary of - other than that, no problems, but I have
never needed their breakdown, nor needed to use their accident cover.

My is renewal on 2nd June

Ebike won't cover you on other people's bikes unless you add the bike to
the policy. My current insurer, no horror stories but I've not claimed or
used the breakdown service. Renewal price is much the same as last year at
£107. Currently offering a free classic bike policy which might suit you.

C Nash has just given me a decent quote £103 inc Euro breakdown

Swinton's price is fairly similar - however you have to claim a £30
cashback to get the same price with the euro breakdown add-on. Same
    groupama underwriter as CN.

You can get cashbacks if you can be bothered to register with Quidco. I can
get cover from someone for £70 if they pay the cashback. No breakdown cover
    though

I think I'll be going back to CN this year.

    Was that CN online ?
    or
    CN by phone ?

If by phone, get an online quote and they will come down to it.
Just dd a quote check for an XT660Z on confused, and hasting came back
    with 140ukp(FC)

It was on the phone, so I went online for other quotes but by the time
I'd finished comparing it was gone 8pm. I'll call them tomorrow and
tell them what Bikesure have quoted and see how much they come down. I
want CIHAGM cover but Bikesure don't say if it's included, but Carole
Nash's policy with ERS does - that';s nother factor to take into
    account.

Wessie's policy seems cheap, cos I am being quoted 190-53 with legal
cover, breakdown, personal accident cover and leathers/kit cover. CN's
    quote is 45 quid more.

My postcode is one of the cheapest in the UK apparently. Car, bike and
house (buildings & contents combined) is about £350 all in.

I haven't added personal or leathers cover to my quote, though.

But the CN site stays up 24 hours, what does a quote on that come up
    with ?
    And pillion

    I asked for pillion cover

Amazing, I went on the CN online quote site and entered all the details
exactly as I gave them to the droid on the phone, and it came back with
a price of 135 quid plus the leathers/personal accident cover at 55
quid. So CN's 190 quid against Bikesure's 190 quid... decisions,
    decisions.

Bikesure not in with a shout here: higher premium, silly excess of £450, no
mention of breakdown cover and their Novitas policy says "a disk lock or
other secondary security device must be used to get theft cover" which is
an inconvenience I can live without.

I've just done mine on CN online and it came out more than the CN renewal
quote I've just received (by over £100 - £315 vs £440). How odd.

I had the opposite, the on-line quote for Motorcycle Direct slaughtered
the renewal. Unfortunately they insisted on a brick garage rather than a
wooden one so the eventual premium matched Carol Nash over the phone.
Carol Nash, for the same reason was much cheaper on the online quote.
    Carol Nash won my business.

Which is why I suggested it wayyyyy back up there ^^^^^^^^

Ring CN, and get them to match their own online quote. Easy

And I have, thanks Bruce. Saved 65 quid on the renewal quote sent by
post, and all up with everything I wanted it came to the online quoted
    190 notes. Happy bunny today
