    My guess is that for a DR50, you don't have to be over the
    legal limit - you can probably just be deemed "unfit through
    drink" even though you are actually under the limit.

    Equally, wibble-flip-dibble-do.

    BGN emerged from their own little world to say

    A DR40 can only be given if a quantitative measurement is produced as
    evidence e.g. a breath test. A DR50 would be given if the court relied on
    an opinion from an expert witness e.g. a police officer or doctor.

    Sometimes quantitative evidence is not available e.g. if the driver does a
    runner before plod get him/her to the police station.

    My only complaint about the 7R is that [1] it never scares me. I scare
    myself with my incompetence quite often, but that's not the same thing
    at all.

    [1] With the exception of the comedy front brake, but I may sort that
    next week.
