    All

Having had my company car nicked and written off last November I got
involved in a discussion about effects on my bike insurance.

    1) Do I need to tell my bike insurance company when renewal time comes
    around.
    2) Do you think it will make a *big* difference to my premium.

    Cheers

[1] I already know the answer to 1 BTW.

And yet in most cases NCB doesnt' appear to count the other way... Ah I see
    your point.

In my experience car accidents haven't had any impact on bike insurance
but this was about 9 years ago so I *suspect* that it will now; anything
to screw a few more quid out of you.

I suggest 'no' as the car wasn't owned by you, or insured by you.

In this case I don't think you do.

If it were an accident you would because you're directly involved, as a
liable party, because you'd be driving at the time. However in the case
of a stolen company car it's simply a case of a company asset being
stolen and claimed for on company insurance with no direct interaction
    by yourself.

  6. To play safe I would say "yes" to 1) and the answer to 2) in my experience
(so far) is "no, probably none".

I guess since it's not an accident careful wording could work here.

Of course you could always choose to lie if that doesn't work.

It was nicked from outside my house, and there was me thinking we'd
moved away from the worst area of town :)

That's what I thought to be honest, I'm hoping so as I'd hate to not be
able to afford insuring the bike (or any new one ;)).

One interesting and rather depressing side effect is that Claire's car
is now worth about half of what it was before it was nicked and
recovered. Looks like we're keeping that until it falls apart then!

Heard a clever quote attributed to the late Mr B Monkhouse.

"When I said I wanted to be a comedian, people used to laugh. They're not
    laughing now."

  16. If it meant the insurance could wriggle out of paying, YES!

Hmm good point. Okay how much for two adjacent 2 bedroom semis and the
hire of a lump hammer and a skip for the weekend.
