Dr Ivan D. Reid came up with the following;:
A friend of mine went out there (somewhere in Antarctica, but dunno where)
driving cranes and supply vehicles etc for the American Geological Survey
people I believe. The worst night they had recorded, he said, was -42 C. I
remember it probably due to HHGTTG.

I've been down to -22 C oop North in the Arctic Circle .... and that was
    enough for me.
Positively balmy, or is that barmy ? ;)

I saw this lot advertising in Classic Mechanics

    http://www.redrose-retrobikes.co.uk/productssimple.html

They might be able to help with a valuation of your old bike to use against
Zenith to try and get the settlement up. Or, when it's all sorted and if you
want another DT, they do refurbished ones(towards the bottom of the page) if
you can't find another good used one.

    HTH

Good luck getting it all sorted out!

    Regards
    Ross
