I dissasembled and cleaned the carbs on my bike (85 Kawasaki 900
Eliminator) and now the diaphragms seem too big for the groove on the
    carb body.

I read that the parts cleaner will cause the rubber to stretch, my
question is how do I get it to shrink back? or is there a trick to
    this.

Is there anything that I can use to help keep the lip in the groove,
as I work my way around the diaphragm keeps coming out of the groove.
I have read that gasket sealer is NOT good to use, is there anything
that will help keep the diaphragm in place?

Try washing them in some hot water with a little dish soap. Rinse and
    air dry thouroughly before reinstalling.

  4. On my honda I strugeled quite a bit until I read the workshop manual :) On
the VTR the diaphragm are suposed to be mounted with the diaphragm as a top
comming out of the carbs. That make them fit right on. Trying to put them on
any other way was very difficult. When seated let the slider (with the
diphragm) move to the bottom and the diaphragm will regain it's proper shape
    and position.
