Aunt Carole has quoted my renewal
    3rd Pty F+F for both bikes £ 210 (4yrs NCD)

    That'll do nicely :)

If it is radicaly less than last year, check you have *exactly* the same
    cover.

They fail to notify you if the drop off thinsg like
    "riding other motorcycles TP"
    and
    "business use"

She's sent through three quotes for me this week.

£375 (excess up to £400 - no helmet & leather cover)
    I queried this and got:-
£379 (excess stays at £250 with helmet & leather cover)
I queried this and mumbled "Bennetts" and got:-
£340 (excess stays at £250 with helmet & leather cover)

'What was that you were saying about "best quote", Auntie?'

So it'll take more than 6 years to pay for itself? Doesn't sound like
much of a deal to me.

If someone tries to nick your bike, but can't, it's paid for itself
    overnight.

'fraid I don't believe that alarms will stop your bike being stolen.
I think they may act as a deterrent to amateurs but a pro will have
    it.

The Datatool 3 is an alarm/immobiliser, so if some amateur tries to
nick your bike, but can't, it's paid for itself overnight.

Big **** off piece of chain around the nearest lamp-post is a pretty
effective immobiliser and a damn site cheaper.

    <sigh>
If you don't want to carry a big **** off piece of chain with you
everywhere you go, and an amateur tries to nick your bike, but can't
    ....

True, but how do you carry the lamppost?

Just wrap it around the back tyre when not in use. Sure, it's a bit bumpy
but a modern bike's suspension is built to deal with that kind of thing.
